Photo Catalytic Oxidation (PCO) begins when the light of the UV-C lamp produces photons; which, traveling at the speed of light, strike the catalyst in the Air Scrubber's reactor releasing unstable OH radical molecules. The unstable OH radicals works outside of the machine and cleans air throughout the house or the building by attaching to airborne organic molecules. This interaction transforms both the OH radical and the organic material - converting them into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) vapor.
